AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma on Barcelona’s radar

According to Calciomercato, Barcelona are tracking the Milan wonderkid. Gianluigi Donnarumma emerged last year as a very talented goalie with bags of potential. He performed wonderfully for Milan last year, bagging 16 clean sheets. Experienced ‘keepers like Cristian Abbiati and Diego Lopez mentored him and Donnarumma has made the best of it. His meteoric rise has attracted interest from clubs like Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. Barcelona too have entered the race for his signature.

Donnarumma’s agent, the infamous Mino Raiola has taken steps to ensure he leaves the San Siro in the summer. He has stalled contract talks with Milan, which will already put interested clubs on alert. Also, the new Chinese owners of the club might have other plans. Raiola is trying to take advantage of the difficult situation at the club to engineer a move to a top European club, and hence maximise his own profits. Barcelona have long been admirers of Donnarumma, especially Luis Enrique. If the future of Donnarumma is made more clear, a summer deal may be in the works.
