The mercurial winger has been subject of interest from top European clubs. Barcelona are one of those clubs. Robert’s scouts and Ariedo Braida have been watching him for a long time. As the race for his signature intensified, his for dropped to an all time low. This probably happened due to the pressure put on the young man by the media.

But Bernardeschi has overcome his struggles at the beginning of the season, and bounced back. His brilliant performance against Napoli has heated up the chase. Clubs will be looking to engineer a move for him in January and bag him in the summer.

But Fiorentina are reluctant to let go of their star man. They have reportedly, La Viola president Della Valle wants to extend his contract, whilst also inserting a release clause in it. The release clause he wants to set is a mammoth €100 million. But Beppe Bozzo knows that his client’s services are not going to come cheap. He wants to raise Bernardeschi’s yearly salary to €2 million, which would make him the highest paid player at Fiorentina.

Bernardeschi may want to leave Italy but it wouldn’t be best for him. He still has a lot of room for development and is still immature. He cannot handle pressure properly and needs to develop further if he has a chance of making the first-team in any top clubs. Bernardeschi will certainly not occupy a first-team spot if he comes to the Camp Nou. Therefore, it’s best for him to stay at Fiorentina.

Next: Srna deal nearly done

Do you agree with me about Federico Bernardeschi, or do you think he should sign for Barcelona? Are you relieved that Andres Iniesta is going to sign a news deal, or it is better he moved on in 2018? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section down below. Cheers!
