Ronald Koeman is a true Blaugrana. He was one of the most important players in Cruyff’s Dream Team. He has imbibed the true Barca spirit and would be a perfect fit for Barcelona.

Koeman has proven to be a very good manager in the most competitive league in the world, the Premier League. He also has experience in the Eredivise, winning 3 titles with Ajax and PSV Eindhoven. But he is not used to the La Liga, managing only Valencia for a single season, that too while battling relegation.

But Koeman would be hard to get. He has a contract with Everton that still has 2 years to run and his club would require a large compensation fee to let him leave Goodison Park.

Eusebio Sacristan was also part of Cruyff’s ‘Dream Team’. He is very well suited to the Barcelona job. Firstly, he has managed Celta, which is always a plus point when applying for the job. Additionally, he has managed the ‘B’ team for 4 years. He has overseen the development of players like Denis Suarez and Carles Alena.

But he is on bad terms with club president Josep Maria Bartomeu. After coming to power, one of the first moves of Bartomeu was to sack Sacristan and appoint Gerard Lopez in his place. After being sacked, Sacristan joined Real Sociedad in an effort to clean up the mess David Moyes had left there. He rejuvenated and inspired a weak Sociedad team and have led them into the top 10 this season.

Realising the potential he had, Fernandez approached him. But Sacristan rebuffed Robert’s attempts to secure his signature by extending his contract. He has shown his loyalty to La Real and will not leave the club any time soon. Therefore, it is safe to rule him out.
