International Stock Report: Special Edition

Samuel Umtiti
The Frenchman has been proving himself in both club and country and I think we can safely say now that he is Barcelona’s best signing this year. Umtiti went the full two game playing in mixed results against Luxembourg, the qualifier game, he played well enough to help with a win of 3-1. Didier Deschamps has essentially crowned him the starter alongside Arsenal’s Laurent Koscielny. Even in a big friendly versus Spain he was given the full 90 minutes. Despite the 2-0 defeat, he played well, especially covering the always dangerous Diego Costa. It looks like even at Barcelona he has also won the second center back stating spot alongside Pique. A very good International break for Samuel Umtiti. (Stats from FranceFootball.com)
