Champions League Finish: Semifinals

It is highly unlikely that Barcelona will win the UEFA Champions league. This is evident from their performance in the competition over the last two seasons. Enrique’s game of passing the ball to the MSN as soon as possible and then letting them handle the situation has been identified and then handled by opposition teams. Last years exit against Juventus reflected this; as the Italian side’s defense was able to choke the Barca front men for space.

Unless Valverde completely revises the team tactics and wipes out any traces of last season’s tactics, then it is unlikely that Barca will be able to eke out the other top teams of Europe. If he adopts a completely fresh approach, like Enrique did when replaced Tata Martino, then it is possible that Barca could enjoy a successful European run. That is why I believe that  semi-finalist is a realistic target.
