Cup Competition Success

Position/stage: Copa Del Rey Champions

A 4th consecutive Copa Del Rey is extremely likely for the club. While many doubt the value of the trophy, it is still a credible source to gauge a club’s consistency against other Spanish clubs. Valverde led his team to a Copa Del Rey final in 2015. He will do so again with Barca. Since 2012, Barca have won the Copa Del Rey four times and have reached the final 5 times. With a rejuvenated team, there is no doubt in my mind that winning the trophy is imminent.

The Copa Del Rey pits lower ranked clubs against some high-quality sides and can therefore be called ‘uncompetitive’ however, it is a trophy at the end of the day and reflects a club’s nation-wide dominance at the very least.
