Reports from Brazil link Neymar with world-record Paris Saint-Germain move

Neymar has been a brilliant signing for Barcelona. The former Santos forward has realized his potential and is set to overtake Lionel Messi as the best player in the world. But this has catapulted him into such stardom and that the bog European clubs are after him. Earlier, Manchester United were chasing him along with PSG.

But Barcelona turned down all their offers. But now, Paris Saint-Germain are looking to match his release clause, and through that, break the transfer record. His current release clause stands at €222 million.

According to Brazilian media outlet Esporte Interativo, PSG are willing to pay that kind of money to get him on board. Apparently, Neymar is an important part of club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi’s future plans for the Parisian giants. Even Gianluca Di Marzio has verifed this.

But a move has not yet been finalised, despite such claims in Brazil. RMC Sport has reported that Neymar’s father and agent will meet with PSG officials in the next 24 hours to convey their decision to the Ligue 1 club.

Barcelona’s stand

And that decision is not going to be beneficial for Barcelona. In fact, a top club official, Jaume Roures has expressed his concern over the matter.

"In an interview with Radio Marca, he said, “I know that Neymar is taking steps to leave Barca. If you do not want to go, do not go, your own silence gives it away.”"

President Josep Maria Bartomeu also has had a talk with Neymar over this matter. According to Sport, Bartomeu was seen conversing with the Brazilian forward before he boarded a flight to New Jersey. The Barcelona-based publication believes that the president was trying to get information about his contact with the French club.

The club’s nervousness about the player, coupled with Thiago Silva’s recent comments are sure to give Bartomeu the chills.

Paris Saint-Germain captain and centre-back Thiago Silva made some worrying remarks about the whole affair recently.

"He said, “Neymar in Paris? I don’t know. I’ve heard a lot of journalists talking but at the minute there is nothing concrete although I think it is important for the PSG project. It’s always good to have great players like him. If he comes, it will be good for the group.”"

All these rumours are looking more genuine by the hour and it is likely that Barcelona’s Brazilian star is going to Paris.

Robert Fernandez is preparing to wage war against Monaco and Juventus if Neymar leaves

Robert Fernandez is preparing to bid for alternatives to Neymar if he decides to leave. The first and preferred option is Paulo Dybala, and the second but less preferred player is equally impressive, Kylian Mbappe of AS Monaco.

The report about Paulo Dybala comes from Mundo Deportivo. They believe that Robert will approach Juventus over Dybala if Neymar decides to leave. The report claims that Barcelona had earlier established contact with Dybala’s representatives through Ariedo Braida. The move had would have been possible last summer, but only if Neymar had decided to stay. But now that the star might be on his way out, the transfer is a possibility.

The report about Mbappe comes from the Daily Mail. They have reported that Robert will use the fee received from Paris Saint-Germain for Neymar to pursue the French superstar. But it will take a significant portion of the Neymar fee to capture Mbappe’s signature. Monaco have already rejected bids from Arsenal and Real Madrid for the star forward.
