Barcelona were outmatched in a tough loss to Real Madrid 3-1 in the Camp Nou in the first leg of the Supercopa de España.

Barcelona met Real Madrid under more serious circumstances than their tango in Miami weeks ago. This time, the first leg of the Supercopa de España first leg was at stake and the Nou Camp was the setting.

The ESPN announcers spent more time talking about potential signings than describing the match, which shows that it wasn’t perhaps of the highest importance, but it was a Clasico nonetheless. Plenty of yellow cards were brandished as tempers neared the boiling point—with the referee involved too! (Not the smartest moment for Cristiano).

Still, Madrid’s talisman earned them a victory with a stunning goal before he was hilariously sent off and Marco Asensio capped it off with a stunner of his own. Here’s how the Barcelona players fared.
