Barcelona lost 2-0 in the second leg of the Spanish Super Cup, losing the trophy to Real Madrid as the rivals dominated the tie.

Already in a deep 3-1 hole, Barcelona found themselves deeper when Marco Asensio fired Madrid ahead by three goals just a few minutes in.

After struggling defensively in the first leg, the Catalan giants switched to a back-three or back-five, depending on how you look at it. For all intents and purposes, we’ll consider the wide players wingbacks for now.

It didn’t help.

Karim Benzema’s goal with nearly 40 minutes gone surely put it out of reach, and Barcelona’s rocky transfer window has been met with iffy play on the pitch as well.
