Ousmane Dembélé – The D in the LSD

Ousmane Dembélé was a regular at Dortmund. Ever since he signed for the German club, he has been a revelation. But this step to the next level – from a good club to a world-class club is going to be interesting.

Neymar was an inside forward. He used to cut in from the left wing and left the defender standing with his silky dribbles. He either took a shot himself, or, more commonly, squared it to either Lionel Messi or Luis Suárez to finish off the move.

But Dembélé role will be different as he is left-footed. He will not be able to cut in, and will have to take either a shot across goal or challenge the defender on pace. If he chooses to outpace the defender, he will have to either cross it into the box or move it across to a midfielder.
