Galatasaray vetoed the loan move for Arda Turan after Turk expresses interest in staying at the Camp Nou

Arda Turan has attracted a lot of interest ever since he started performing poorly but he himself has always been reluctant to leave Barcelona. That is why Barcelona have failed to sell him. The club received several offers for him, including a €60 million offer from a Chinese Super League club.

Barca even accepted that offer, but Arda Turan did not agree on personal terms. He loves playing for Barcelona, despite not getting enough minutes and performing poorly even when he gets playing time.

This time around, it the same old story in a new book. Galatasaray had struck a deal with Barca to sign him on a two-year deal. But he openly expressed his disinterest in rejoining his boyhood club.

"Turan said, “The fans of Galatasaray don’t want me so I’ll stay at Barcelona and fulfill my contract.”"

Then, Galatasaray pulled the plug on the deal. The Turkish giants released a statement that they would not make any more additions to their squad on deadline day.

This is yet another failure of the board. Although Ernesto Valverde told the Turkish playmaker that he did not figure in his plans, Turan was not convinced. Even Luis Enrique had decided on that but he kept playing him due to the bad form of André Gomes.

Turan believes that’s what will transpire this season also. It was the duty of the board to make it clear to him that he will not be playing this season. But they failed to do so, and the club will have to bear the burden of his €4.8 million yearly wages for yet another season.
