WHAT DOES THAT MEAN FOR BARCA?

Well, disaster. Secession from Spain spells disaster for the club. Quite simply, it will have to leave La Liga and work out its own future. I said earlier that Barca may be able to work out a deal with La Liga where it may be permitted to play on even in the event of independence. That doesn’t appear to a possibility as Javier Tebas, The La Liga President ruled out a La Liga spot for Barca if Catalonia secedes. So, what then?

Fierce lobbying, I’m afraid. Lobbying, persuasion and horribly long discussions. Barca will be forced to join a foreign league from a neighboring country. This would leave them with a few options which may seem far-fetched, as of now.
