Luis Suarez has left critics crawling back to their holes after a strong performance and a crucial goal against Atletico Madrid.
Barcelona faced Atletico Madrid at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano for the first time and Luis Suarez was the hero for the visitors, silencing his critics in a fashionable way after scoring the equalizer to settle the anticipated game.
The Uruguayan has been receiving criticism over the past months for his slow start and poor performances with the team, only scoring three goals in all competitions. His lack of goals have angered some supporters, creating a negative atmosphere for the striker. Despite this, Ernesto Valverde continued to play Suarez game after game, although failing to impress. This only created even more talk for the footballer.

Many argued it was the beginning of the downward spiral for the 30-year-old and it eventually got to him. Due to his frustration, he tore up his jersey in frustration and stormed off the field after missing a clear chance in their previous match against Las Palmas.
However, it seems as if Lionel Messi’s partner in crime is back in action. Suarez played radiantly against Los Rojiblancos on Saturday’s nail-biting match which ended in a 1-1 draw for Valverde’s men. Almost every move he made was timed perfectly and his creativeness poured out on the field, as Barca fans began to witness their furious footballer back in action. He delivered several incredible passes, linking up brilliantly with Jordi Alba throughout the match. The striker fought for every ball as if it was his last game ever and his passion shined on the pitch.
All Barca fans want the player to get back to his goal-scoring ways and that is exactly what Suarez achieved in Madrid. A perfect pass delivered by Barcelona’s underrated hero Sergi Roberto led to the Uruguayan heading the ball past Jan Oblak in the final minutes of the match. And his celebration was his incredible way of responding to the haters.
Luis Suarez must continue this momentum and strive for more goals in order to regain his confidence with the team. His next chance to find the back of the net will be on Wednesday when Barcelona face Greek side Olympiacos in the Champions League group stage match.
