FC Barcelona transfer rumour update – André Gomes and Aleix Vidal
AC Milan considering Aleix Vidal bid in January
The start to Andrea Conti’s Milan career could not have been any worse. After just 2 appearances for his new club after completing a €25 million move, he got himself injured with a anterior cruciate ligament.

With Conti out till March, Milan are short of numbers on the right hand side of defence, with the inexperienced Davide Calabria the only backup to Ignazio Abate. In this dire situation, Vincenzo Montella is looking to Aleix Vidal to solve the crisis at the San Siro.
As for Barcelona, this will be a good deal as well. The club is trying to reduce its wage bill, and one of the supposed deadweights is Aleix Vidal. As Sergi Roberto can fill in at right-back, he has no significant role as backup to Nélson Semedo.
But despite his relative unimportance in the squad, he shares a good relationship with Ernesto Valverde. Valverde does not hesitate to start him when needed and has even given him the attacking freedom he lacked under Luis Enrique.
Therefore, it is unlikely that Ernesto Valverde will let him go in January. But he might be on his way out next summer.
Barcelona weighing up options as André Gomes struggles for minutes
Ever since he arrived, André Gomes has had full confidence from the board as well as the coaches. But he has not been able to translate that faith into performances. The Portuguese playmaker has struggled to adapt and has not been able to put up the performances he did at Valencia.

Last summer, Barcelona received an offer from Juventus for André Gomes. The Torinise club wanted to take Gomes on loan for a season with an option to buy. But the fee they offered as a buyout clause was too low.
On deadline day, Tottenham and West Ham submitted loan offers for him. But as Barcelona failed to sign Philippe Coutinho, he was kept as a backup midfielder. Now, with the midfield inching towards stability, the management has a decision to make.
The club has received yet another loan offer with the same terms from Juventus. Also, an unnamed Premier League club has made enquiries about André Gomes. Hence, the option to move him on is available in January.
But the other option is also very appealing. Since form is temporary and class is permanent, the sky is the limit for what André Gomes could become at the Camp Nou. If he successfully adapts to the system, he has the ability to make everybody forget about Philippe Coutinho.

The management is faced with this tough choice. But being a club that gives every youngster equal opportunity, Barcelona should go for the latter option.
