FC Barcelona transfer rumour update – Antoine Griezmann and Javier Mascherano
Javier Mascherano may seal a return to River Plate at the end of the season
Javier Mascherano has been giving hints as to his Barcelona future in recent interviews. He has subtly indicated that he is on his way out of the Camp Nou. But he also said that he hasn’t decided on his future destination.
Reports have suggested that he may be going to the United States to play for a MLS side. But a new destination has emerged for him, one which suits his talent, more so than a MLS club. River Plate have entered the race for his signature.
Although they will be rivaled by Liverpool, Mascherano has indicated that he would prefer a move back to his homeland.

"He said, “I believe I need to give a chapter of my career to River Plate. My problem is this is not guaranteed and I could be a prisoner of my own words, if the move does not happen I may be accused of lying. But the truth is that this is what I have thought about, but I have a good relationship with the club’s president Rodolfo D’Onofrio and we speak regularly. My future has nothing to do with money, I used to make my own decisions but now they’re done by my family, I cannot forget my kids and their situation. What will I be doing in January or summer? I have no idea.”"
Wherever might he go, ‘El Jefecito’ deserves a good send-off and it is the club’s duty to ensure that. Mascherano is a legend, and he needs to be treated like one.
Antoine Griezmann agrees personal terms with Barcelona
Earlier this week, a report emerged which said that Barcelona would be offering a wage package of €20 million to Antoine Griezmann to lure him to the Camp Nou. Apparently, that has done the trick.
Griezmann has agreed personal terms with Barcelona, and it removes a huge roadblock for the club to sign him. Next summer, his release clause will return to the original €100 million, and then, Barcelona can snap him up without any problems.

If the transfer goes through, it would mean the end of Luis Suárez’s Barcelona career where he would select himself in the starting lineup. But the Uruguayan has aged, and it is time for his heir to take over.
