Barcelona inform Yerry Mina of summer move for him
Barcelona have an agreement in place with Palmeiras that allows the club to sign Yerry Mina next summer for a fee of €10 million. In the last few months, Mina’s uncle and agent, Jair Mina tried to pull out of the agreement but wasn’t successful.
Now, he will sleep peacefully as Robert Fernandez has assured him that Barcelona will exercise their right to sign him next summer. The squad will need a centre-back after Javier Mascherano’s decision to leave the club at the end of the next season.
Also, Thomas Vermaelen is likely to leave, and Marlon Santos will be the only backup centre-back, that too, if the club decides to recall him from loan at Nice. Yerry Mina would provide the much-needed strength in the back-up defensive pairing.
Barcelona consider Christian Eriksen as alternative to Coutinho and Özil
The players who will be leaving Barcelona in January are mostly midfielders, namely Rafinha and Arda Turan. That will open up at least a single slot in the midfield, which will be filled by a signing. Barcelona are considering bringing in either Philippe Coutinho or Mesut Özil, but a better option may have emerged.

Barcelona have been keeping tabs on Christian Eriksen ever since he joined Tottenham from Ajax in 2012. But for the last couple of seasons, he has started breaking into the good books of the scouts with mind-blowing performances.
But this January, the club might submit an actual bid for the Dane. While Philippe Coutinho might turn out to be too expensive, Mesut Özil is more likely to join Manchester United to play under José Mourinho again.
Christian Eriksen will be an excellent option, better than both of the other players. While Coutinho is still developing, Özil does not have too many years of his prime left. Eriksen is at a prime age to replace Andrés Iniesta.
