Luis Suárez is beginning to show signs of age, and that means that the management need to appoint a successor
Luis Suárez has had a terrific career at Barcelona. He has scored 91 goals in 108 appearances over 4 seasons for the club, winning 9 trophies in the process. Very few players in the world can do what he did for Barcelona, but the club needs to look at some of those players.
The forward’s prime is between 24 and 31 years of age. Of course, some exceptional players like Zlatan Ibrahimović and Francesco Totti have proven the trend to be wrong. But in the case of Luis Suárez, the trend is applicable.
Suárez has struggled with fitness this season, failing to convert simple chances and not giving justice to his nickname, ‘El Pistolero’ which was carried by Hristo Stoichkov before him. Although might just make a comeback and prove his critics wrong, he does not have more than a season left in him.
But world football does not have dearth of talent when it comes to strikers.
