Sergio Busquets continues to be the invisible genius
Barcelona walked away from the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu with a historic win, in addition, to three golden points to give them a massive lead in La Liga. Much of the credit needs to be given to the Catalan’s invisible genius, Sergio Busquets.
The defensive midfielder was the key man behind the opening goal, as he held and shielded the ball until some space opened up, passing it to Ivan Rakitic who then found Sergi Roberto on the right side and with a one-touch pass to Luis Suarez, the ball was in the back of the net.
His presence on the field always seems to go unnoticed, but without the Spaniard, Barcelona’s success would not be possible.
Busquets sees things that the majority of players do not see and his creative vision and calmness on the ball when under tremendous pressure is absolutely astonishing.

His game against Real Madrid on Saturday is just one example of his extraordinary talent and skills. Without his tactical awareness and his world-class touches, Barcelona would not be where the club is today.
Former Spain coach Vicente del Bosque, Xavi, and football legend Johan Cruyff have all praised Busquets’ brilliance in the past and it is the most accurate content you will read all day.
"Del Bosque: “You watch the game, you don’t see Busquets. You watch Busquets, you see the whole game.”Xavi: “Without Busquets, Barcelona and Spain could never had achieved what we have achieved.”Johan Cruyff (Barcelona Legend): “Positionally, he seems like a veteran with or without the ball. With the ball he makes what is difficult look easy: he disposes of the ball with one or two touches. Without the ball, he gives us a lesson: that of being in the right place to intercept and running just to recover the ball.”"
It is a shame to see Busquets viewed as such an underrated player, especially when he is not even considered in the top 50 greatest players.
This invisible genius is the motor and heart of the club and he deserves all the praises in the football world.
