This day one year ago, FC Barcelona displayed a stunning performance to get past a Paris Saint-Germain side who arrived in the Camp Nou with a strong 4-0 first-leg advantage.

Sergi Roberto was the man of the hour, scoring the golden goal in the 95th minute, turning the football world upside down. Barca supporters will be forever grateful to La Masia product who converted his shot into the most vital goal in the club’s history.

That night, which was wondrous to say the least, Barca netted six goals in a breathtaking game, resulting in celebrations from the players and fans like never seen before. It was a day that will be remembered forever, a time filled with excitement, tears of joy and happiness for the Catalans.

More from Everything Barca

Never before has any team in Champions League history been able to overcome a 4-0 deficit, but the Blaugrana went against all odds and created the most tremendous comeback in football that will last for an eternity.

Till this day, Barca fans from all over the world still get goosebumps when they think of this absolutely astonishing masterclass of a match Barcelona put on in front of a supportive and packed Camp Nou.

How it happened

Lionel Messi and Co. entered the field with the greatest ambition and dedication, as they fought for every ball like it was their last.

Despite the disadvantage, the home side did not waste any time, as Luis Suarez instantly found the back of the net in the third minute, demonstrating to the world that they were ready to fight and make history.

Then an own goal from PSG in the 40th minute gave Barca a 2-0 lead before the half-time; however, the team knew they needed to at least score two more if they hoped to reach the next stage of the competition.

In the 50th minute, they were awarded a penalty, who Messi easily smashed home, but the clock was ticking and Barcelona still needed more.

Everything was going their way until PSG’s main man Edinson Cavani managed to get the ball past Ter Stegen, damaging the souls of an entire Camp Nou.

But Barcelona did not give up, they picked themselves up and stayed true to their style. Pass after pass, shot after shot.

However, their time was running out and three more goals still needed to be scored.

But from the 88th minute, the game turned into something extraordinary. Neymar took things into his own hands, scoring a free kick and then a penalty within a span of only three minutes. That meant the Catalans only needed one more goal to claim the victory.

Five minutes of extra time was given and Barca continued to give their all.

And in the dying seconds of the match, the impossible became possible, as Sergi Roberto netted the incredible goal to lead the Catalans to an unbelievable triumph.
