2. Nélson Semedo

When it comes to Nélson Semedo, it is just the opposite of the situation of Lucas Digne. The 24-year Portuguese right-back has been too good up front, and too cavalier in defence. And this has allowed Sergi Roberto to retain his place in the first-team under Ernesto Valverde.

He has been excellent in both areas in some games, but they are a minority compared to the matches where his attacking side outdid his defensive side. Semedo has made 33 appearances in all competitions this season.

Semedo has shown excellent dribbling, and his mesmerising skills are reminiscent of the Dani Alves era. The Portuguese also has good tacking skills. But he needs to improve the quality of his defensive contribution if he wants to give Sergi Roberto a run for his money next season.
