Gerard Deulofeu has a release clause of €20 million
After re-signing for Barcelona, Gerard Deulofeu made a good start at the club under Ernesto Valverde, filling in for the injured Ousmane Dembélé. But after the Frenchman returned from injury and the club signed Philippe Coutinho in January, he fell out of favour and was sent out on loan.
At Watford, the winger was starting to make an impact before he suffered a fractured foot and was ruled out for the rest of the season. In the end, he returned to the Camp Nou after scoring a single goal in 7 appearances in the Premier League.

Gerard Deulofeu himself thinks that he does not have a further chance of making it at Barcelona. And that is the likelier case, considering the fact that that he has a release clause of €20 million, and the club could earn a profit by offloading him.
But the squad does not have an array of attacking options. Munir and Paco Alcácer are both expected to leave the club, and there is lack of depth. The club is expected to sign either Antoine Griezmann or Cristian Pavón in attack, but that may not be enough.
Gerard Deulofeu would provide attacking depth for the squad. He can play on both the flanks, and could even support a 4-3-3 formation. Due to his pace, the 24-year old winger can dazzle opposition defenders coming off the bench.
Next: What would Cristian Pavón’s signing mean for Barça?
The club should negotiate with his representatives over a new contract, with a significant increase in his release clause. But even if he is allowed to leave, that would not have any impact on the current squad.
