Marc-André ter Stegen : I want Thiago back at Barcelona
Ter Stegen has urged Barcelona to sign Thiago
It seems like Thiago’s teammates in the Spain setup has some good things to say about the midfielder to Marc-André ter Stegen. The 27-year old playmaker has a lot of friends in the Barcelona dressing room who admire him, including the likes of Gerard Piqué and Sergio Busquets.
The German goalkeeper has publicly come out with a statement that he wants the club to bring Thiago back to the Camp Nou. This is in light of Thiago’s situation at Bayern, he has been excluded from new coach Niko Kovač’s plans and has been transfer-listed.
The club have been linked with a move for Thiago in recent weeks. But no official offer has been submitted yet. But with Marc-André ter Stegen endorsing a potential signing, the management may sanction a move for Thiago.

He is expected to cost the club around €50 million. But the Éric Abidal-Ramón Planes partnership needs to show their negotiating skills in their first ever independent negotiation if Bayern are to budge from their €70 million price tag.
"Ter Stegen said, ““I would like to see Thiago at Barcelona. His style of play would fit in with us because of learning his football here and he obviously has the quality at this level of football.Thiago is a fantastic player and would fit into our squad, I’m sure he would be open to a move back here and it would be special for us and for him if it happened.”"
While Ter Stegen’s statement will put pressure on the club to sign a player who is clearly the right player to fill the void left by Xavi 3 seasons ago, it might put the German out of favour with the board. And while he will retain his spot in the first-team, Jasper Cillessen is also in contention.

With Ernesto Valverde having little say in the affairs of the club, the Basque coach might be forced to drop Ter Stegen from the first-team for this unwarranted statement.
