Aleix Vidal may have made his last appearance for Barcelona
Aleix Vidal’s departure is imminent
In the case of the most probable scenario, Aleix Vidal has made his last appearance for Barcelona. Since arriving from Sevilla three summers back, he hasn’t been able to make much of an impact, and has not been able to compete with either Sergi Roberto or Ousmane Dembélé.
Sevilla have confirmed the departure of Argentine winger Joaquin Correa, who has joined Lazio for €15 million. They want to bring in their former player, Aleix Vidal, as replacement. They already have a preliminary agreement in place with Barcelona for his signature.

The fee was been agreed upon by the two parties. It would be €8 million in principle fee, with €2 million in variables and add-ons. It would be a profit of €7 million for Sevilla and a loss of the same amount for Barça, who are just looking to get him off the wage bill.
Vidal gave another display of his declining ability against Roma, when he skied several clear-cut opportunities and struggled to complete take-ons. He is no longer fit to wear Barça colours, and this transfer would be the best move for his career at this time.
As for his replacement, there is no need for another signing. The right-back spot is well-covered by Nélson Semedo and Sergi Roberto, while Ousmane Dembélé has a new backup in Malcom. But Rafinha may need to step in to fulfill Vidal’s role in the squad.
In the coming days, Aleix Vidal will be leaving the pre-season tour in the US and returning to Spain to complete his return to Sevilla.
