Barcelona : Manchester United exit race for Yerry Mina
Manchester United have withdrawn interest in Yerry Mina
Manchester United have pulled out of the race for the signature of Yerry Mina. The Red Devils had shown interest in signing the 23-year old Colombian centre-back as an alternative to other options Toby Alderweireld and Harry Maguire.
But negotiations between Barcelona and United have broken down. The club had taken advantage of the interest in Yerry Mina to increase the asking price to a mammoth €40 million. The management did not negotiate with Everton, who were offering a considerably lower amount.

This plan has backfired, with United deeming the asking price excessive. Now, the club has two less suitors for Mina, with both Everton and Manchester United pulling out of the race for his signature.
The aggravation of this problem has also taken place, with the signings of Malcom and Arturo Vidal taking the number of non-EU players to six. Even if Philippe Coutinho gets Portuguese dual citizenship, it will leave the squad with five non-EU players.
Éric Abidal needs to find suitors for the likes of Marlon Santos and Yerry Mina if the squad is to comply with the La Liga registration rules. And he didn’t do much help to his own effort by hiking the asking price for Mina.
Mina didn’t help either. One of his representatives, Felipe Russo, asked for a huge salary, only to be rejected by Ed Woodward. The club will need to start from scratch if Mina is to leave. As of now, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Lyon are the only clubs with serious interest in the Colombian.
