Real Betis want to sign Rafinha on loan

Rafinha had a great pre-season, being Barcelona’s best performer in the International Champions Cup. The 25-year old Brazilian midfielder also did very well for the club in the Supercopa de España and the Joan Gamper Trophy.

He was earlier being linked with a move away from the Camp Nou, with his loan club Inter being highly interested in securing his services on a permanent basis, along with the likes of West Ham and Arsenal.

But after pre-season, it seemed like Ernesto Valverde had included Rafinha in his plans for the upcoming season. But now, Arturo Vidal’s signing will be pushing the playmaker out of the squad yet again, with a loan offer coming in from Real Betis.

The Seville-based club are interested in signing Rafinha on a one-season loan, and have entered negotiations with the Brazilian’s father, former international Mazinho. The management is also considering the offer, and is expected to accept it.

This season might have been the one where Rafinha broke out onto the international scene. He has always dreamed of representing his homeland, Brazil but his injury-prone nature has kept him out of action for prolonged periods of time.

He still might get to make his international debut this season, but it will be harder with Real Betis than it would be with Barcelona. The club should hope that Rafinha isn’t frustrated after returning from loan yet again, and that he doesn’t put in a transfer request like this summer.
