Barcelona: Jasper Cillessen has offer from Manchester City
Manchester City want Jasper Cillessen on a short-term loan
Former Barcelona goalkeeper and backup to Ederson at Manchester City, Claudio Bravo has suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon. This leaves City with the inexperienced Daniel Grimshaw as the sole second-choice goalie in the first-team squad.
Pep Guardiola’s team are still in the running for 3 cup competitions, and with the Premier League, Ederson will need rest. The Spaniard will not be able to count on Grimshaw, and is looking to sign Jasper Cillessen on a short-term loan to cover for Bravo.

The Premier League transfer window has closed. But in case of a long-term injury suffered by a player, new signings can be registered as replacement for the injured player. Manchester City are looking to make use of this rule to get Cillessen.
For Cillessen, this will mean that he gets more playing time, with the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup. But it is a short-term solution to his issues, and the 29-year old Dutchman will have to return to the Camp Nou eventually.
And for the club, it would be of great harm considering that Adrián Ortolá is no longer a third-choice option, having joined Deportivo on loan earlier this summer. Cillessen’s departure would mean that 20-year old Jokin Ezkieta would have to deputise for Ter Stegen.
So, neither a loan deal nor a permanent deal is viable at this time. But if the management finds a replacement for Cillessen in January and a club is willing offer an adequate fee, the goalkeeper could be offloaded then.
