Paco Alcácer set to leave Barcelona on one-year loan
Borussia Dortmund have come in with a loan offer for Paco Alcácer
Paco Alcácer has been linked with a move away from Barcelona for a long time, with Southampton and Real Betis expressing interest in signing him this summer. But a late entrant in the race for his signature, Borussia Dortmund, are set to sign him on a loan deal.
Dortmund lost out on Belgian forward Michy Batshuayi to Valencia earlier this summer, and their frontline has been very weak since Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang joined Arsenal in January. Head coach Lucien Favre wants a centre forward, and Paco Alcácer apparently fits the required profile.

Dortmund’s representative is in Barcelona and has been negotiating with the club over a potential loan deal. The German club has taken advantage of the withdrawal of Betis’ offer for Alcácer, who are more interested in reinforcing their defence.
And although Alcácer does not want to move abroad, Dortmund is his only option now. Dortmund have offered to cover the 24-year old Spanish striker’s full salary for the entirety of the loan, with no option to make the move permanent.
The management has wanted to get rid of Alcácer for a long time due to his failure to adapt to the style of play at Barcelona. But with Luis Suárez’s rapid decline, the squad will need quality players who can step in when the Uruguayan fails to perform.
Munir is a decent player, but he alone cannot cover for Suárez. The squad needs Paco Alcácer, and if the young forward performs, this even could be his breakout season. So, Éric Abidal needs to make a decision keeping in mind that Luis Suárez is not the player he was 3 seasons ago.
