Barcelona: Paco Alcácer edges closer to Borussia Dortmund move
Borussia Dortmund are close to securing a loan deal for Paco Alcácer
Paco Alcácer is yet to make the squad for a competitive game this season, having been excluded from the matchday squad for the opening two La Liga games. It is clear that Ernesto Valverde prefers Munir to Alcácer up top as backup to Luis Suárez.
Now, the 24-year old Spanish centre forward is on his way out of the Camp Nou. The club has been in negotiations with Porto, Borussia Dortmund and Real Betis over a potential one-year loan deal for Alcácer, and the German club is very close to winning the race for his signature.

Borussia Dortmund are in desperate need for a striker. They lost Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Arsenal in January, and couldn’t sign Michy Batshuayi this summer. Their only options up top are Alexandar Isak, Jacob Bruun Larsen and Maximilian Philipp, none of whom are experienced.
If Lucien Favre did have the services of Paco Alcácer at his disposal, the Spaniard would get a playing time. If he does well at Dortmund, he might even have a chance of returning to Barcelona and getting some playing time.
So, Dortmund should not have an option to make the move permanent for a fixed fee. Éric Abidal should do what he did with André Gomes in this case, especially with the decline of Luis Suárez in recent times.
At the end of the season, Munir is expected to leave the club, and Luis Suárez is no longer expected to be an undisputed starter. It would present a golden opportunity for Alcácer, despite the fact that the club would probably sign a world-class forward.
