Barcelona: Paco Alcácer joins Borussia Dortmund on loan
Paco Alcácer has moved to Borussia Dortmund on loan
After reconsidering his decision, Paco Alcácer has finally decided to move to Borussia Dortmund on loan, deciding against waiting for Real Betis to make a move. He will spend the entire season in the Bundesliga, with the Ruhr club covering the entirety of his wages.
Dortmund will be paying €2 million as loan fees, and will have an option to make the move permanent at the end of the season for a fee of €23 million, along with €5 million in variables. But Barcelona will reserve the right to refuse that option, and bring the Spaniard back.

And if Dortmund do sign him permanently and then move him on, Barça will be entitled to claim 5% of the profit. This is a good move, ensuring that the club do not lose any kind of money. He was signed from Valencia for €30 million, and if Dortmund sign him, the club will neither lose nor gain.
This move is the right one for Alcácer’s career at this point. If he stayed at the Camp Nou, he would be relegated to third-choice, with the management to focus on the development of La Masia graduate Munir, and awarding the youngster a new contract.
At Dortmund, if he does well, he has the opportunity to rejuvenate his career in the Bundesliga. Alcácer can stay at the Signal Iduna Park permanently, or even return to Barcelona to do well after a season of regular playing time.
With the transfer of Paco Alcácer, Éric Abidal’s job is almost done for the summer, with Rafinha being the only player yet to be offloaded.
