Barcelona: 5 potential long-term replacements for Luis Suarez
Kylian Mbappe
A successful move for the young Frenchman is highly unlikely considering how many other clubs would be in for him as well as the fee required. However, this is based on the assumption that PSG have serious Financial Fair Play issues which need to be resolved because they are still being investigated even though they sold a number of players in the summer.
There is no doubting that he is the most talented youngster in world football, however, Ousmane Dembele certainly has the ability to reach the same level or even surpass him if he reaches his full potential. Mbappe is already a World Cup winner and scored four goals in the tournament including one in the final.
At 19-years-old, he has a long and successful career ahead of him, although a move to a more challenging league than Ligue 1 would be welcome. His four goals against Lyon showcased his ability as well as highlighting the lack of competition for PSG who are yet to drop points after nine games.
Mbappe has it all because he is composed in front of goal, is a vertical threat due to his sheer pace, has quick footwork and can easily beat defenders in 1v1s while also being able to split open a defence with incisive passes, although he does need to improve on his passing in the final third against low blocks to fit in at Barca.
This may be a pipe dream but he would be ideal due to his age and how comfortable he is playing wide on either flank or through the middle which suits Messi. Replacing the Argentine will be an impossible task for the club, nevertheless, Mbappe could certainly soften the blow alongside his compatriot Dembele.
