Luis Suárez in the 38th spot

Luis Suárez was one of the worst performers for Barcelona last season. Inconsistent, sluggish and confused, the 32-year old Uruguayan centre-forward had one of the poorest seasons of his career, despite bagging 31 goals and 17 assists in 49 appearances in all competitions.

He depended on Leo Messi for supply of balls, and it is due to his teammate that he still occupies a spot in the first-team. At the World Cup, Suárez was pretty impressive, scoring 2 goals and providing 1 assist as Uruguay were eliminated in the quarter-finals.

The Goal editors were very generous in awarding Suárez a place in the Top 40, considering that players like Leroy Sané, Edin Džeko and especially Andrés Iniesta deserved a spot over him in Goal 50.
