Barcelona revise plans to sign Jean-Clair Todibo
Barcelona are planning to sign Jean-Clair Todibo in January itself
Toulouse are exacting revenge on Jean-Clair Todibo for turning down several contract offers in the past few weeks, and reaching an agreement to join Barcelona, by benching him indefinitely. This is not a situation the club wants, and is seeking to solve this problem.
The management is currently negotiating a compensation package, formally known as a development fee, for signing an under-23 player on a free transfer, with Toulouse. But Éric Abidal is converting that into transfer negotiations for a move now.

The club does not want Todibo to spent the coming months on the bench, and wants him to earn as much experience as possible. Thus, he would join permanently in January, and go out on loan to a La Liga club, many of whom have shown interest in signing him.
This would be the best outcome for all parties. Toulouse would get more than the measly compensation package, Barça would have Todibo conditioned for first-team action and the French youngster would gain a lot of experience in the La Liga and the Copa del Rey.
The 18-year old centre-back is going to join on a four-year deal, whether in January or in the summer transfer window. The management has identified him as an important part of the club’s future, and it would be ideal if he joined now.
But Jean-Clair Todibo will face intense competition from La Masia graduate Chumi, who has been making a strong case for a promotion to the first-team with his performances, both in the Copa del Rey for the senior team and in Segunda División for Barcelona B.
