Barcelona could have a serious suitor for wantaway Denis Suárez
Denis Suárez is clearly unhappy at Barcelona at the moment. He has made just 6 appearances in all competitions this season, playing a meagre total of 221 minutes. The Manchester City youth academy graduate wants to leave the club in the winter transfer window.
Till date, he has attracted interest from West Ham, Arsenal, Everton and AC Milan. But currently, it is the Gunners who lead the race for his signature, with manager Unai Emery very interested in working with Denis Suárez again.

Emery managed the 23-year old Spain international while he was at Sevilla, and oversaw much of his development in the La Liga. The 3-time Europa League winner knows about Denis’ potential, and wants him to realise it at the Emirates.
Barcelona offered Denis Suárez in December, and Arsenal are currently considering the proposal. The Gunners are interested in a loan deal till the end of the season, with an option to make the move permanent. But it is the transfer fee wherein lies the disagreement.
Barça are demanding a fee in the region of €22 million for Denis Suárez, which would allow the club to pocket a significant profit after having signed him from Villarreal through a buy-back clause worth €3.25 million in 2016.

But considering Éric Abidal’s reputation for driving a hard bargain, he is sure to ensure that the club earns a profit through every reputation. That is certainly going to be the case with Denis Suárez, since his market value has increased since he joined the club.
