Barcelona: How is André Gomes getting on at Everton?
Barcelona should keep a close eye on loanee André Gomes
After not getting playing time under Ernesto Valverde, André Gomes finally left Barcelona to join Everton on loan till the end of the season last summer. It was a welcome move for the club, as the Portugal international had never impressed much since a €37 million transfer from Valencia.
The 25-year old playmaker is a regular under compatriot Marco Silva at Goodison Park. He has made 19 appearances in all competitions, scoring 1 goal and assisting 2 others, and picking up 5 yellow cards. But mostly, André Gomes has been inconsistent.

The midfielder has been used in various roles by Silva, but he has not been able to settle in comfortably, despite having old teammates from Barça in Lucas Digne and Yerry Mina. André Gomes has had some good games and some bad.
Initially after joining on loan, Gomes got off to a great start. His performances against Cardiff, Watford and Newcastle were impressive. But then, he had a period of very bad form. Only recently has Gomes returned to form, but that too has occurred in a 3-1 defeat to Wolves, when he scored.
Overall, André Gomes’ has looked off in front of goal despite his prowess in the air. His dribbling has been decent, while his crossing accuracy is very poor. Also, Gomes has been unable to refrain from committing fouls while tackling.
Till date, André Gomes has not been able to make a case for a stay at Barça. Everton are interested in signing him permanently, and Barça should offload the Portuguese midfielder for as much as possible in the summer transfer window.
