Barcelona may have some serious dressing room issues after news emerging that Lionel Messi is not happy with Lionel Messi.

Gerard Pique has been a colossal figure for Barcelona this season and has been among their best players this season alongside Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Marc-Andre Ter Stegen. The former Spain international is also one of the most senior figures in the dressing room and has a huge say in things that are pertaining to nearly every first-team thing.

Over the last few days, the atmosphere in the training grounds and dressing room at Catalonia has been anything but cheerful following their absolute debacle in the UEFA Champions League on Merseyside last week. A lot of fingers are being pointed here and there, and according to Diario GOL, Lionel Messi is livid with Gerard Pique.

The former Manchester United central defender was far from his usual self when the Blaugrana were beaten 4-0 by Liverpool on Tuesday evening and may have done a much better job, thereby being vital for Barcelona’s potential progress to the final of the UEFA Champions League at the start of next month.

However, captain Lionel Messi feels that Gerard Pique’s performance at the Anfield was a repercussion of the off-field distractions that he has had of late. Since retiring from the Spanish national setup, the centre back has been looking to bulk his finances by investing in a lot of business concerns.

The 32-year-old has a lot of ventures in the technological field and has also invested in a sporting organisation at Andorra. Messi feels that Pique’s business commitments are hampering his sportsman life and he is not able to give his all during the weekly training sessions. He wants to get this matter sorted at the quickest, but not make anything dirty.
