Cristiano Ronaldo has asked Juventus’ directors to head to Barcelona for this summer’s transfer shopping as they look for Champions League quality players.

Juventus fell short of adding the UEFA Champions League to their credentials for one more season after their embarrassing defeat to Ajax Amsterdam in the round of 16. Thankfully from Cristiano Ronaldo’s perspective, his biggest individual rival Lionel Messi and possibly his bitterest opponent in Barcelona would not be winning the trophy either.

Nevertheless, the Blaugrana had a magnificent season and were head and shoulders above Juventus for the entire campaign. Cristiano Ronaldo has not denied that in his head and would like Juventus to approach the Catalans during the summer in order to sign three of their players. According to Fox Sports, Jasper Cillessen, Ivan Rakitic and Samuel Umtiti are the three wanted names.

Jasper Cillessen has indicated that this would be his last season in Catalonia and the Copa del Rey Final will be his last act in the Blaugrana jersey. The Netherlands international will be looking to move to a club where he could be a regular in between the posts. Juventus can meet his requirement by replacing Wojciech Szczesny.

Meanwhile, the Bianconeri need to find proxies for its veteran pair of central defenders in Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci. As a result, Cristiano Ronaldo has suggested Samuel Umtiti’s name. The Frenchman has fallen behind Gerard Pique and Clement Lenglet in the pecking order and de Ligt’s arrival would only make things worse for him at Barca.

Additionally, Ivan Rakitic is believed to be an option that would strengthen Juventus’ midfield. The engine room has been the Old Lady’s main issue and that was visible after Ajax complete dominated in the centre of the park. All three signings could cost the Italian champions in excess of a 100 to 120 million euros.
