Real Madrid want to beat Barcelona to everything next season and they may impose a blow on their rivals even before the campaign in underway.

The month of May for Barcelona was catastrophic to say the least. Ernesto Valverde’s men lost two trophies which they were favourites to win inside 180 footballing minutes and that put the manager’s and several players’ futures under jeopardy. Josep Maria Bartomeu has confirmed to the Catalan faithful that he will not be firing the manager but will invest in newer players and get rid of the dead stock.

Several reports over the last few months were claiming that Liverpool’s duo of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane that has been increasingly proficient over the last two campaigns was on the radar of Barcelona. The Catalans are planning for life after Lionel Messi and on the other hand are yet to replace Neymar with a reliable player, so for that motive they were eyeing a raid on the six time UEFA Champions League winners.

Diario GOL reports now that Real Madrid- who were also interested in Liverpool’s frontmen- have fastened their approach for Sadio Mane. The Senegal international could be on two minds about his future at the Anfield following the Reds’ Champions League victory, so Zinedine Zidane side is willing to offer 50 million euros and Marco Asensio to the Merseyside outfit in exchange of Mane’s services.

If this deal goes through, Barcelona could be massively impacted because Sadio Mane or Mohamed Salah would have been fantastic additions to their roster, preferably and more so the Egyptian. The Catalans eyed the ex-Roma forward as a replacement for Lionel Messi and his ability to score goals and wreak havoc down either wing has arguably been unparalleled over the last two seasons- at least in the Premier League.

But on another page, it seems like the deals would be nearly impossible for either side to pursue. Real Madrid are offering an attractive sum and a promising player, but Mane is more instrumental to Liverpool than that. On the other hand, Barcelona will have to break the bank to sign any Liverpool player and pay 100 million euros extra as per a recent deal following Philippe’s Coutinho. Plus, Liverpool are a budding side now so Salah and Mane would want to be in the thick of it.
