The rivals lock horns again as both, Barcelona and Real Madrid have their sights set on a common transfer target in the 16 year-old winger from Fulham, Harvey Elliot, according to The Sun.

Back in May, Barcelona target Harvey Elliott made history by becoming the youngest player ever to record a premier league appearance at 16 years and 30 days old, beating the record set previously by Matthew Briggs from Fulham (16 years and 68 days).
However, it is believed that the 16 year-old winger has rejected a new deal at Fulham following their relegation and he is expected to come out of the Craven Cottage as a free agent.
Elliot can fit in well in the Barça starting XI, replacing Coutinho who has been lackluster in his stint with the Club. With age heavily favouring him, the 16 year-old can be also viewed as a long-term option to take up the mantle of Messi, when he does decide to hang up his boots.
Fulham captain, Tom Cairney described Harvey as a sensation and it has to be noted that apart from the Spanish Giants, the German club in RB Lepzig have their sights locked on to Harvey, as well.
As per The Sun, “his appearance against Wolves last month will push his training compensation into the millions for an English club”.
It is believed that a club outside of England needs to offer a sum close to £200,000 to acquire the services of the Winger and this sum is enough to tempt any one of the three clubs into snapping the 16 year-old this summer.
It’s been a busy transfer window for both Real Madrid and Barcelona this time around with the Galacticos having snapped up a major signing in Eden Hazard and a few other quality players in Luka Jovic, Ferland Mendy and Eder Militao.
Barça on the other hand, have been heavily linked to a Griezmann move to The Nou this summer and an expected Coutinho exit. However, having only signed the Dutch wonderkid in Frenkie de Jong, the Blaugranes will be eager to pip their bitter rivals in this race, having already lost one to them this window when Real Madrid beat Barça by acquiring Takefusa Kubo, fondly known as the ‘Japanese Messi’.
Valverde is due for a major squad overhaul and there should not be any doubt about it. Barça will be eager to make their second signing of the summer and with Griezmann links not fading away, one can expect some big name signings by Barcelona. The future is certainly exciting and only time can tell one the fate of these transfer battles.
