Neymar’s discipline has always been a headache, but one of his notorious videos will force Barcelona into rethinking whether they should sign him up.
Barcelona sold Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017 for a world record transfer fee of 220 million euros. The Blaugrana received a mammoth sum of cash, but had to deal with a lot of non-sense whilst selling off the Brazil international. A lawsuit filed by him was just one of the things, but fighting with Nelson Semedo was another that made his exit look extremely embarrassing.

Neymar’s time in France has not been to memorable despite winning serially on the domestic front. The former Santos winger has fallen under Kylian Mbappe’s shadow and not been able to guide his side beyond the first knockout rounds of the Champions League, missing three of the four legs over the last two seasons due to injuries.
His off-field antics at Paris Saint-Germain, including punching a fan after the team’s loss in the French Cup to Lille have all alienated the club’s officials who are willing to sell him. Nasser Al-Khelaifi is now open to selling his once blockbuster signing for a loss but would like either of Philippe Coutinho, Ivan Rakitic or Samuel Umtiti in exchange if Neymar’s buyer is Barcelona.
According to Diario GOL, the Catalans face a conundrum of decisions in case Neymar were to return following memories of him fighting with Nelson Semedo. Additionally, the club’s vice president flatly denying any approach for the player has only gone on and damaged any of Barcelona’s hopes of getting the Brazilian for a cut-price.
The club’s only option right now is to either go all in for Antoine Griezmann or get rid of Nelson Semedo to accommodate Neymar’s arrival peacefully and also spend money on signing another right full-back, possibly Joshua Kimmich from Bayern Munich. The worst of all these problems is that the Catalans’ senior figures in the dressing room are against Griezmann’s signing.
