Barcelona will attempt to sign Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain by offering the Ligue 1 champions as many as four players in exchange.
Barcelona completed Antoine Griezmann’s signing on Friday. The Catalans were widely expected to make a move for the Atletico Madrid striker so the announcement did not cause much of a reaction among the football faithful. However, the way Atletico reacted to the player’s departure and Barca’s ill-negotiation did cause a stir.

The Catalans are confident about not having to pay a penny over the 120 million euros for their latest recruit’s services, and so, their attentions will turn to dealing with Paris Saint-Germain in order to close in on a reunion with former superstar Neymar. Spanish source AS has made the revelation, that as many as four Barcelona players could be sent the other way for Neymar.
Paris Saint-Germain will be offered a list of four players, namely- Philippe Coutinho, Ivan Rakitic, Nelson Semedo and Samuel Umtiti- in order to land Neymar. The French giants will choose three of their choice, plus accept an already agreed transfer fee that is thought to be roughly 130 million euros. But PSG believe that the three players will earn more wage combined than Neymar does now.
Ernesto Valverde has not instilled his full confidence in the quadruple and Barcelona’s latest recruits may only create further commotion in the squad. Frenkie de Jong is certain to challenge Ivan Rakitic, while Dembele is head and shoulders above Coutinho. Semedo and Umtiti will have no chances if players of their positions are signed.
Neymar has failed to turn up for Paris Saint-Germain’s pre-season training and told the club that he wants to leave during this window. PSG’s director Leonardo said that the Brazil international will be allowed to leave the club once an appropriate offer comes, but the club is expected to play hardball if Barcelona try to make a move for him.
