Barcelona close to completing deal for Santos wonderkid
Barcelona will make their first signing from Santos in 6 years
The last time Santos and Barcelona entered into negotiations was for Neymar, a rising star in world football. It was a controversial deal which is yet to see the light of day in court, but the two clubs are set to see another player switch soon.
Barça have been scouting young midfielder Tailson for a long time, and are in the process of bringing him in. The 20-year old Santos playmaker impressed club scouts at Copinha, a youth tournament in Brazil.
He will be joining Barcelona B on a free transfer when his contract expires. Barça will pay €350,000 in development rights to Santos, with Tailson penning a 3-year deal. The club has beaten Europe’s elite to the signature of the starlet.

Tailson had also impressed Santos head coach Jorge Sampaoli, who regularly called him up to train with the first-team squad. He was set to debut with the senior team, before contract negotiations were called off and he made his decision to leave.
The youngster is very creative, and has vision. He is also a great dribbler, and finds the back of the net regularly. Tailson is going to be more of an attacking reinforcement for Xavi García Pimienta’s side, the second one this summer after Japan international Hiroki Abe.
Tailson will be Barça’s fourth signing for the B team this year. After the high-profile signing of Ludovit Reis from Groningen, Barça have signed right-back Mike van Beijnen and Hiroki Abe. In Janaury, the club had signed young Brazilian centre-forward Gabriel Novaes on loan.
