Manchester United are hoping that Barcelona can lend them a helping hand as they brace for Paul Pogba’s exit and look to replace him soon.
Barcelona’s squad is disintermediated after their most recent transfers. The attacking line boasts some big names, but it is the midfielders whose chances will be limited and the Catalans will have to process those sales first. Frenkie de Jong’s signing has meant that Ernesto Valverde has another player to run the engine room and he must trim his squad before the transfer window ends.

Ivan Rakitic is the player who is going to be sold by the Blaugrana according to Sport English. The Croatia international is indispensable in the eyes of Ernesto Valverde, but Barcelona have made a decision on Rakitic’s future given that his stock is high and so is his age right now, but performances are deteriorating incrementally.
Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba could be on the move to Real Madrid and the Red Devils are expected to cash in on the France international amid his desire to leave. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side is going to earn at least 150 million euros from Pogba’s sale, so Rakitic is their option to replace the former Juventus man and they can very well pay 50 million for him.
Currently, Barcelona have been dodging talks about there being an offer for Ivan Rakitic but it is expected that there will be one shortly. Inter Milan have also showed interest in the former Sevilla midfielder, while Paris Saint-Germain who audaciously bid 90 million euros for Rakitic a few months ago were rejected in their approach- a rather ridiculous step by Barca’s board.
Rafinha Alcantara will also be sold, but given that the Premier League’s transfer window shuts on the 8th of August, Rakitic’s sale could be done in less than 10 days if Manchester United are interested. Andre Gomes and Denis Suarez are two midfielders who have already been offloaded this season to Everton and Celta Vigo respectively.
