Lionel Messi wants Barcelona to sign missed out superstar ASAP
Reports from Fox Sports have come up with an update on the Matthijs de Ligt situation. It is to be believed that Lionel Messi has been urging Barcelona to go after the defender.

If anything, Barca are looking to to snap up Christiano Ronaldo’s teammate in the upcoming transfer window. Barcelona have been keeping track of Matthijs de Ligt for quite some time now and if the 20 year-old does decide to switch teams, Messi wants the Blaugrana to seize up the opportunity. The basic idea behind the move would be having a long term replacement for Pique. De Ligt is easily the highest rated defender right now and he has age and the potential to grow behind him as well.
The Catalans’ ace also suggested that they should act quickly as in his opinion Real Madrid might do everything in their power to play spoilsport and it will just like another failed Neymar deal in the end. Speaking about Neymar in an interview with El Mundo, the tailsman admitted that he expected Neymar to go to the Santiago Bernabeau in case Barcelona’s plans of capturing him didn’t work out. While Matthijs de Ligt is indeed an attractive option, it is perfectly understandable of Barca do decide to go after him. However, they should act quickly before other clubs step in and especially before Real Madrid do.
