As per the Spanish outlet Sport, Manchester United and AC Milan are the favourites to land Rakitic if he does decide to leave this winter.

It is a well known fact that Rakitic has not been happy at Camp Nou in recent times, playing the role of a backup. From being a regular first choice to becoming a fifth choice, Rakitic has moved down a lot under Ernesto Valverde.

Rakitic has made it clear that if things do not change in the coming days, he will consider leaving Barcelona. In fact, both sides have already started to make their moves by trying to convince Rakitic that they are the best place for him at the moment.

Rakitic recently returned to training from national duties and has started only once this season. He is absolutely right in his own place to be upset with the things as they are going. After all, he has been an important part of this outfit since 2014.

A player of his quality and calibre should not be treated the way he is being treated. The least Ernesto Valverde could do is provide him with some clarity on his role in the club’s future plans. However, with the squad undergoing a major overhaul and with the youngsters being groomed for the future, it is highly unlikely that Rakitic is going to be a part of Barca’s plans in the future.

Between Manchester United and AC Milan, what would be the better destination for Rakitic?
