Barcelona have reportedly identified a long-term replacement for Andres Iniesta who is expected to partner Frenkie de Jong and Arthur Melo soon.

Barcelona have buffed up their midfield after signing Frenkie de Jong and Arthur Melo over the last two transfer windows. The Catalans got both their wanted youngsters on price tags that will be looked as bargains in the future if the players end up performing well. That being said, Arthur and de Jong are more Xavi kind of players, leaving their club to still look for someone who could replace Andres Iniesta.

Germany’s top footballing division- Bundesliga- is known for the development of some of the best footballers in the world. Schalke 04 boast one of the best sides in the country and have to fend off interest from Barcelona if they are to keep hold of Amine Harit. The Blaugrana see Harit as a realistic option to succeed Iniesta.

Sport has reported that Eric Abidal’s second man and Barca’s assistant sporting director Ramon Planes was spotted at the Rhein Neckar Arena last weekend when Hoffenheim played Schalke. While the hosts won 2-0, Planes got to see a lot of the Morocco international who is certain to grab the attention of more suitors.

Amine Harit has not yet been debited with interest from several other teams, so it would not be a surprise if the Spanish giants, Barca, get him for a much lower transfer fee than expected. Moreover, given that Schalke have produced talents like Leroy Sane and Manuel Neuer in the past, they have a good track record with transactions relating to younger players.

In other news, Ivan Rakitic is still on the search of greener pastures after realising that he will not be a regular fixture at the Camp Nou. The Croatia international has offers from AC Milan, Inter Milan and Juventus from Italy, which seems to be an attractive prospect. Rakitic has rejected Manchester United, but a January transfer beckons for the midfielder.

Do you think Amine Harit will be a successful prospect at the Camp Nou if he signs?
