In what could possibly be the biggest heartbreak for Barcelona fans, Messi already has a exit date in his mind and it isn’t exactly far away.

As per Fox Sports, the Barcelona ace has decided on when he wants to leave the club and even has a successor in his mind.

Messi has admitted in the past that his heart lies in finishing his career in his childhood club hence it was always imperative that he is going to leave someday. However, for many, that day is a long time away but if these rumors are true, it’s no less than 2 years away.

Following their shock 4-0 loss against Liverpool in the UEFA CL 2018-19, Messi apparently texted Neymar. In his text, Messi told him that a CL victory was possible if Neymar returned and that he is going to leave in a couple of years. Messi asked Neymar to take over the reins.

Lionel Messi is 32 now and he will be 34 if he does decide to leave in a couple of years time. No doubt that this news can come as a major shocker to many but they should keep in mind that a Neymar return is still on the cards.

Neymar as Messi’s successor isn’t exactly a bad idea and it could be the boost that Neymar has been waiting for. All things said, a Messi-less Barcelona with Neymar at the helm will still be a potent force and a club to be feared. Barcelona is going to be in safe hands.
