Express reports that according to Simon Hughes, Liverpool star Sadio Mane might join Barcelona if he wins the Premier League trophy with the Reds this season.
Athletic reporter Simon Hughes shares his opinion about Sadio Mane, who he believes might leave the Premier League for Barcelona after winning the title as that would seal everything he could possibly win with the Reds after celebrating the Champions League last season.

Liverpool are currently at the top of the Premier League table, 8 points ahead of tailing Leicester City. They are the only club in the Premier League this season to go undefeated so far. The Reds also managed to qualify for the Round of 16 in the Champions League after defeating FC Red Bull Salzburg 2-0 on Tuesday.
Liverpool are favorites to win the Premier League due to there being a lack of a serious threat. If the Reds do manage to win the EPL this season, it will be their first PL trophy in 30 years, having won the then English ‘First Division’ trophy in 1889/90 season. Liverpool also won the Champions League last season beating FC Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur F.C. in the process.
One of the key reasons for this success is 27-year-old, Sadio Mane, who plays a critical part in Jürgen Klopp’s attacking trio since he joined the Reds from Southampton in 2016 for a fee of €40 million. He is having an outstanding season with Liverpool this season, managing 13 goals along with 8 assists in 22 appearances for the club.
Hughes now suggests that the Senegalese forward might look for a change after winning everything possible with the Premier League side.
"“Sadio Mane is the one for me at the moment [to earn a move]. He’s been Liverpool’s best player this calendar year, there hasn’t been a bad performance from him, I can’t think of a single game he hasn’t affected something that’s happened. I’d imagine a lot of clubs, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, will all want to sign him.” Hughes shared on The Athletic podcast"
The reason Hughes believes this could be a possibility is that according to him, Mane does not really share any history with the club and once he has won everything there is to win, he might look elsewhere for a change,
"“It’s whether Mane thinks they’re [Other European giants] better than Liverpool at this moment. Whether if Liverpool won the league, he might think, ‘Well I’ve won everything I can win here,’“This is what players think, he’s got no emotional connection to the area so he might fancy a change.” Hughes added"
It remains to be seen if Liverpool shares Hughes’s concerns and if they would do anything to prevent it as the Senegal international has also been linked with PSG to replace Neymar if the Brazilian leaves next summer for Barca.
