Barcelona eccentric French superstar could be on his way to complete a shock move despite interests from Premier League sides, Liverpool and Man Utd, as the club set their price.

Barcelona are reportedly prepared to go on a loss for Ousmane Dembele as they are willing to part ways with the Frenchman for a sum of £85 million (roughly €100 million), €20 million less than what they paid.

The reason for this seems to be the fact that Dembele’s contract expires in just two years, meaning Barca may face a greater loss if they decide to keep the Frenchman for longer.

The 22-year-old had recently refused a move to Paris St-Germain in Blaugrana’s attempt to reunite with Neymar. El Desmarque has claimed that Barca have lost their patience with the youngster, with a series of injuries and disciplinary issues surrounding the player.

The report claims that the club wants to get rid of the Frenchman in the summer transfer window with several interested clubs like Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Juventus, Bayern Munich, and Atletico Madrid, lining up.

Dembele arrived at the Nou Camp in 2017 as an equal to Kylian Mbappe but has since lost his credibility to be named as good as his countryman.  He has managed to score 19 goals along with 17 assists in 74 appearances for the Catalan club.

The Spanish champions are planning to use Dembele’s transfer fee to invest in the return of Neymar as they look at the Brazilian to be the perfect replacement for Lionel Messi. Reports of Liverpool being one of the clubs likely to bid for the Frenchman has hit the news but is unlikely given that they do not need him.

Both Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah are unlikely to depart from Anfield any time soon and the recent signing of Takumi Minamino makes it impossible to believe that the Champions League winners will prepare such a huge fee for a winger that isn’t needed.

A shocking revelation is that Dembele’s former club, Rennes, are planning a loan offer for their former prospect in order to bolster their chances for in the Champions League qualification. This would be a difficult proposition by the French club as they cannot manage to pay Demeble’s complete salary. Only time will tell what the future holds for Ousmane as Barca looks to plan for their post-Messi era.
