Barcelona have announced that midfielder Arturo Vidal will not be available in the January transfer market and all interested parties will have to wait until the summer to place any bids.

Arturo Vidal had recently displayed his frustration with the lack of game time under Valverde’s Barcelona and has even sued the club over unpaid bonuses.

The speculation surrounding his exit has been growing ever since, with Gianluca Di Marzio claiming that the Chilean wants to reunite with Inter Milan coach, Antonio Conte. Vidal’s agent had recently opened up about the player’s intention to leave the Nou Camp in order to find more minutes.

Manchester United have also been linked as manager Solskjaer displayed his affection for the Chilean international amid desperation to bring experience to the young and talented United squad.

Sport, however, claims that Barca have turned down the idea of any departures this month and have told the former Bayern Munich midfielder that he would remain at the Nou Camp until the end of the season.

The report claims that the Catalan giants have promised Arturo more game time in order to satisfy his needs along with declaring the midfielder non-transferable during the January transfer market.

Conte’s Internazionale will have to wait until the summer to place any bids. They can, however, change the Spanish side’s decision by offering around €20 million for the Chilean. Gazzetta Dello Sport has reported that Inter will be submitting a revised offer over the course of the week after having their initial  €12 million offer rejected by the Catalans.

With the recent departure of Carles Alena, along with both Artur Melo’s injury and Ivan Rakitic’s poor performances, Barca may very well be able to convince Vidal to stay until the end of the season where he will play an extensive role in the midfield.
