Barcelona are planning to sell Nelson Semedo in the summer transfer window and have identified RB Leipzig star full-back as the ideal replacement.

Barcelona outgoing Portuguese, Nelson Semedo, has struggled to make a lasting impression at the Nou Camp and the Spanish champions are prepared to part ways with the defender.

Semedo started his career in the youth academy of SL Benfica where he managed to make 65 appearances, scoring 3 goals and providing 12 assists in the process. His pace and attacking-minded style are what attracted Blaugrana to sign him in 2017 for a fee of  €35.7million. He has since been a regular part of the Barca defense, sharing minutes with teammate Sergi Roberto.

El Mundo Deportivo had previously reported that the Catalan giants have their eyes on RB Leipzig’s defender, Lukas Klostermann. The 23-year-old has managed to score 10 goals along with providing 10 assists in 149 appearances for the Bundesliga giants.

The full-back moved from VFL Bochum in 2014. His current contract expires in 2021 and Leipzig are reportedly aiming to renew his contract. El Desmarque reported that Blaugrana are trying to persuade Joshua Kimmich away from Bayern Munich as the right-back is claimed to be one of the best in that position.

Hector Bellerin is another name heavily linked with the club as a possible alternative to Kimmich alongside Leipzig’s Klostermann. According to Sport, Barcelona wants to sign Lukas as a permanent replacement for the departing Semedo. The report also suggests that the La Liga champions are looking to pay close to €35 million for the German star. This amount could be more as Juventus and Bayern Munich have also shown their interests in the German international who has displayed top-form in all 16 appearances for Leipzig this season.
